July: Some food for thought + this months Workout
The hungry guinea pig
I’ve been trialling a diet for my photoshoot on the 20th, which has been mostly good, though I’m not sure I’d recommend it. I’m currently being a guinea pig, one that has some abs but has felt better!
In honesty, to look like a fitness model isn’t a lot of fun. Being chronically underfed, under or over watered, and tired, to then look great for one day with the help of lighting, before we ever talk steroids and photoshop. Plus A LOT of saying no.
However I always think there’s a way if you try hard enough, so this is why I’ve been trying to experiment with a rapid fat loss plan that’s not completely awful, with the motivation in that I’m shooting for a couple of fitness brands.
It’s a funny thing, I’m hoping the photos will look great but I was definitely fitter a month ago when a stone heavier. I really think the sweet spot we should aim for is good health, all round fitness and the ability to switch off and relax with our family and friends.
However we need to remember balance involves discipline as well as indulgence. The daily discipline makes the room for the blowout without ruining our efforts. If you’re having multiple takeaways and bottles of wine a week, that’s not a balanced lifestyle, it’s an unhealthy one. Which is fine, we just sometimes need to admit it for what it is. In the same way, training too hard too often isn’t healthy behaviour, we’re not building our bodies, we’re breaking them down. Please don’t think I’m preaching, I’m writing this with a abdominal strain, so I definitely have my weaknesses too!
A healthy, happy lifestyle is a constant lifelong process of learning and improving, and it sure beats the alternative.
I’m much more active on here again;
Workout of the month
Ok this is a real burner. Four exercises, 15 seconds each, with FAST reps.
Three rounds of that with no rest. (3 minutes).
Then take one minute recovery.
Repeat for 3 - 5 sets.
The purpose is to push you and demand you find some power from somewhere. You can do it! 💪
Food Inspo of the month
Breakfast: Frittata, make it the night before and have it hot or cold, delicious.
Lunch: Chicken Salad, if you want to look lean, and earn your indulgences, then here’s a good standard.
Dinner: The big salad. This was actually delicious, just a big amount of good stuff, green salad with balsamic and EVOO, beans, tenderstem and the king; Cashews cooked in salt and butter.
Have a great rest of the month, and do get training and walking in the sunshine, it’s coming!
