June Part II: My surgery, workout buddies and a stretching programme.
Hi gang,
So just a reminder that I’m going for my surgery on Tuesday 15th, if I haven’t mentioned yet I’m sorry!
Yes, finally getting my Brazilian butt lift!
Unfortunately I’ve had some cysts near my coccyx and we’re going to do some preventative surgery.
The advice I have at the moment is 2 weeks off of exercise, then another 4 weeks sticking to moderate. I’m hoping to coach after about 10 days, though won’t be demonstrating much, so expect even more hand gestures!
I’m planning on going back to my parents, eating lots of healthy food and watching every football match of the euros so don’t worry about me 😁
I’m planning to be off from Tues 15th and returning thur 24th, but may be longer if needed, unfortunately better practise what I preach around looking after the body!
‘I don’t even want to look at you today’
My friend Tom, also a PT, to me when meeting for training.
While I’m off, a great idea might you be to buddy up for training for a week or two. Grab a friend or family member (I know I have some friends across my group so I’m especially looking at you!).
Make it an appointment, refuse to cancel and I’m more than happy to plan your workouts, just let me know what you need before Tues 15th.
Going back to the quote above, Tom and I trained together three times a week on our joint recovery from Covid. That day, we’d both written texts to cancel but didn’t want to let each other down.
We complained for the first minute and then had a great time and a awesome session. Remember we’re both trainers, no one looks forward to every workout and everyone needs some friendly support to keep going.
Lower Body Stretches
These are the four best…according to me! Hold each for 30-60 secs, and do them daily or near enough. Can’t say it much simpler than that!
Yoga Foundation Challenge
I chose these three as homework for a new class, but they’ll benefit anyone whether in a warm up or as part of a stretch session. These will be particularly useful if you play tennis as they’re based around the serve, the low ready and shoulder and side ab strength.

Practise the Yoga Foundation to improve your base strength.
