Christmas workouts!
So Christmas is upon us, as are the pigs in blankets, camembert and champagne!
Here are some workouts to offset some of that, and keep you feeling good mentally and physically. All of them are between 15 - 30 mins long, so should work well when fitting around family and social plans. They’re also all circuit based for an extra calorie burn, so get some of these done and make sure you come in for January feeling strong. It’s amazing what a short workout can do for your mood, so perhaps see them as an energy booster, trust me, you’ll feel great afterwards.
Home Weights (kettlebell or Dumbbell)
Perform 3 - 5 circuits of the exercises, with 1 - 2 mins rest between rounds.
Core Session
For this, 3 rounds will work great. Make sure to exhale on the effort, whilst drawing the stomach downwards and inwards.
Bodyweight Conditioning
Arguably tougher than the kettebell version, aim for 3 - 5 rounds with 1 - 2 mins recovery between circuits.
Gym Session (1 pair of Dumbbells, 1 Bench)
Not for the faint hearted, but quick and simple. Aim for 3 rounds. Aim for something fairly heavy but not impossible for the bench press, and that will give you the correct weight for the four exercises.
10 Minute Freestyle
Here’s another idea when you want to just get a quick blast in. Choose four exercises that you enjoy and hit the whole body (press, Pull, Squat and Core works well), and then just keep those going for ten minutes…can’t get simpler than that!
For a warm up or good stretch?
For heat perhaps Skipping, or for a stretch out this kind of thing works great!
There you are, this should keep you pretty busy for the next couple of weeks, perhaps there should be a prize if someone tries each!
See you soon!
